Integrating with Nourish

Learn how to connect Custr with Nourish Care, synchronise employees and residents, and record visitor activity directly on the Nourish timeline.

Overview

The Custr and Nourish integration connects your Nourish Care platform with Custr, helping to reduce administration and ensure your employee and resident records remain up to date.

Once connected, Custr can:

  • Automatically synchronise employees and residents from Nourish.

  • Record visitor check-ins on a resident's Nourish timeline.

  • Record resident check-ins and check-outs on their Nourish timeline.

  • Write visitor feedback submitted using Nourish Fields directly to the resident's timeline.

Employee and resident information is managed within Nourish, with Custr automatically synchronising changes to keep both systems up to date.

Availability

The Nourish integration is available as part of selected Custr packages.

If you're interested in enabling the integration or would like to check whether it's available for your account, please contact the Custr team or your account manager.

Before You Begin

Before connecting Custr to Nourish, ensure:

  • Your account includes access to the Nourish integration.

  • You have administrator access to both Custr and Nourish.

  • The Extensions section is available within your Nourish account.

If the Extensions menu is not visible, please contact your Nourish administrator or account manager to ensure your account has the required permissions.

How Synchronisation Works

Once connected, Custr automatically synchronises employees and residents from Nourish using a configurable polling interval.

Any changes to employee or resident information should always be made in Nourish. These updates will then automatically synchronise to Custr during the next polling cycle, removing the need to manually manage these records in both systems.

Information synchronised from Nourish to Custr

  • Employees

  • Residents

  • Updates to employee records

  • Updates to resident records

Information written from Custr to Nourish

The following activities are automatically recorded on the relevant resident's Nourish timeline:

  • Visitor check-ins

  • Resident check-ins

  • Resident check-outs

  • Visitor feedback submitted using Nourish Fields

This provides care staff with a complete timeline of resident activity without needing to manually update Nourish.

Nourish Fields and Custom Fields

When configuring visitor questions, you can choose between Nourish Fields and Custom Fields.

Nourish Fields

Nourish Fields are predefined questions supplied by the integration.

Responses to these questions are automatically written back to the resident's Nourish timeline, allowing care staff to view important visitor information directly within Nourish.

Please note: these fields cannot be customised.

Custom Fields

Custom Fields allow you to create your own visitor questions within Custr.

Responses are stored within Custr only and are not written back to Nourish.

You can use a combination of Nourish Fields and Custom Fields to create a visitor experience that meets your organisation's specific requirements.

Resident and Employee Requirements

For records to be synchronised into Custr, they must meet the following requirements.

Residents

Residents must have:

  • An NHS Number.

  • A Date of Birth.

  • A status of Active.

  • A record that has been updated since the year 2000.

Employees

Employees must have:

  • A status of Active.

  • A record that has been updated since the year 2000.

Note: The "updated since the year 2000" requirement is a technical requirement of the Nourish integration. It helps ensure that only active and relevant records are synchronised with Custr.

Benefits of the Integration

Integrating Custr with Nourish helps reduce administration by ensuring employee and resident information is managed from a single source.

Key benefits include:

  • Automatic synchronisation of employees and residents.

  • Reduced manual data entry.

  • Visitor activity is recorded directly against residents.

  • Improved audit trails and compliance.

  • Better reporting across both platforms.

  • A single source of truth for employee and resident records.

Troubleshooting

I can't see the Extensions menu in Nourish

The Nourish account you're signed in with may not have the required administrator permissions.

Please contact your Nourish administrator or account manager to request access.

A resident or employee hasn't appeared in Custr

Check that the record:

  • Is marked as Active.

  • Contains the required information listed above.

  • Has been updated since the year 2000.

If the record meets these requirements, it will be synchronised during the next polling cycle.

Changes made in Custr aren't updating Nourish

Employee and resident records are managed within Nourish and cannot be edited through Custr.

If you need to update employee or resident information, make the changes in Nourish. Custr will automatically synchronise the updated information during the next polling cycle.

Tip: If you're unsure whether your account includes the Nourish integration or you'd like to enable it, please contact the Custr team or your account manager for assistance.
