Overview
Custr offers two applications:
Custr Check-In App – used on a front-of-house device for visitor and pupil check-in
Custr Companion App – used by staff on mobile devices
Both apps serve different purposes and have different levels of support on Android.
Custr Check-In App (Front-of-House Device)
The Custr Check-In app is the main application used on reception or entry-point devices.
Current Availability
✅ Fully supported on iPad (iOS)
⚠️ Available on Android (Beta)
We are currently testing an Android version of the Check-In app, with a full release planned for September 2026.
Android Beta Access
The Android version is not yet available on the Google Play Store.

Recommended Android Device
Due to differences across Android devices and operating systems, we currently recommend:
👉 Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ (11”)
This is the device we have tested to ensure compatibility and performance.
Android Requirements
If using Android, we recommend:
Running the latest available Android OS
Using a supported device (such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+)
Testing your setup before full deployment
Current Android Limitations
While the Android version is in beta, the following features are not currently supported:
❌ RFID / fob scanning
❌ Label printing (e.g. Brother printers)
If your setup requires either of these features, we recommend using an iPad, where full functionality is supported.
Important Notes
The Android version is currently in beta
Some features or performance may differ from the iPad version
iPad remains the fully supported and recommended device for production use
Custr Companion App (Staff App)
The Companion App is fully available on both:

✅ Android
This app allows staff to:
Receive notifications
Check in and out
Pre-register visitors
View evacuation lists (permissions dependent)
Manage deliveries and items (depending on setup)
The Companion App is fully supported on Android devices.
Recommended Setup
For the best experience:
Use an iPad for your main check-in device
Use the Companion App on iOS or Android for staff
