Understanding Sites and Locations in Custr

Custr uses Sites and Locations to help organise your account. Although they sound similar, they are used for different purposes.

Sites

A Site represents a separate Custr environment for a building, branch, school, care home or organisation location.

Examples:

  • Head Office

  • London Branch

  • School A

  • Care Home A

Each Site manages its own:

  • Employees

  • Visitors

  • Check-in activity

  • Evacuation information

  • Reports

  • Site settings

If you need to add an additional Site to your account, please contact the Custr team who can assist with setting this up.

Locations

A Location is an area within your existing Site.

Locations can be created and managed by administrators to help organise where items are stored or where deliveries are assigned.

Examples:

  • Reception

  • Storeroom

  • Warehouse

  • Room 1A

  • Room 1B

Locations are used within:

  • Items

  • Deliveries

Creating a Location does not create a new Site and does not separate:

  • Staff records

  • Visitor records

  • Check-in activity

  • Evacuation information

Which one do I need?

I need to manage another building, office, school or care home
Contact Custr to add another Site

I need to organise areas within my existing building
→ Create a Location

If you are trying to separate staff, visitors or evacuation information between buildings, you need a Site rather than a Location.
