Learn how to check device status, connectivity, and app versions for your Custr devices.

Updated today

Overview

The Devices page allows you to monitor the status and health of your iPads.

From here, you can:

  • See if devices are online or offline

  • Check app versions

  • View when a device last went offline

  • Diagnose potential issues remotely

Accessing Device Information

  1. Go to Configuration → Devices

  2. View your list of connected devices

Understanding Device Status

Each device shows a status:

  • Online → Device is connected and syncing

  • Offline → Device is not currently communicating

If a device is offline, it will not sync new data until reconnected

Offline Status (Last Seen Information)

When a device is offline, the dashboard will show:

“Offline since [date/time]”

This tells you when the device last communicated with the system.

For example:

  • Offline since 10 minutes ago → likely a temporary issue

  • Offline since 1 day ago → device may be powered off or disconnected

If a device is online, it will simply show as Online and does not display a timestamp

Checking App Version

Each device shows the version of the Custr app installed.

This helps you:

  • Ensure devices are running the latest version

  • Identify devices that may need updating

Keeping the app updated improves performance and stability

Diagnosing Offline Devices

If a device shows as offline, check:

  • The iPad is powered on

  • It is connected to Wi-Fi

  • The Custr app is open and running

Restarting the device often resolves temporary issues

Refreshing Device Status

If the status does not appear up to date:

  • Go to Configuration → Devices

  • Click Refresh

This will update the information shown on the dashboard

When to Take Action

Investigate further if:

  • A device remains offline

  • The last seen time does not update

  • The app version is outdated
