Safety Roll Call Permissions

Control which logged-in users can access Safety Roll Call and mark people as safe during an active event.

Overview

Safety Roll Call permissions control which logged-in users can access and manage the roll call from the Custr Dashboard and Custr Companion.

The Reception Kiosk is site-based and does not require an individual user permission to access Safety Roll Call.

What Does the Safety Roll Call Permission Allow?

Users with the Safety Roll Call permission can:

  • Access the Safety Roll Call list

  • View who is currently on site

  • Start a Safety Roll Call

  • Mark people as safe during an active roll call

  • Access the relevant procedure

  • Use Messenger during an active roll call

  • End an active Safety Roll Call

This permission is typically given to employees who may need to manage or support a roll call, such as fire marshals, reception teams, site managers or other responsible members of staff.

Evacuation and Invacuation

During an Evacuation or Invacuation, only users with the appropriate Safety Roll Call permission can use the main roll call list to mark people as safe.

This allows designated employees to account for people as they reach the relevant safe or assembly area.

Lockdown

Lockdown works slightly differently.

Users with the Safety Roll Call permission can continue to use the main roll call list and mark people as safe in the usual way.

However, employees using Custr Companion can also:

  • Mark themselves as safe

  • Mark people they are currently with as safe

They can do this during a Lockdown even if they do not have the wider Safety Roll Call permission.

For example, an employee in a secure room with a colleague or visitor can account for those people through Companion.

Reception Kiosk Access

Safety Roll Call on the Reception Kiosk is site-based.

This means access to the Safety Roll Call function on the kiosk does not depend on an individual employee's role or permissions.

The kiosk can be used to:

  • View the current roll call

  • Start a Safety Roll Call

  • Mark people as safe during an active event

  • End a Safety Roll Call

  • Use Messenger during an active roll call

Managing Safety Roll Call Permissions

Administrators can manage Safety Roll Call access through:

Locate the Safety Roll Call permission and enable it for the roles that should have access.

Any employee assigned to one of those roles will then receive the relevant Safety Roll Call access when logged in to the Dashboard or Custr Companion.

Important

  • Permissions apply to logged-in Dashboard and Custr Companion users.

  • The Reception Kiosk does not require an individual user permission.

  • During Evacuation and Invacuation, authorised users manage who is marked safe.

  • During Lockdown, Companion users can also mark themselves and people they are with as safe without needing the wider Safety Roll Call permission.

For information on using the feature itself, see Safety Roll Call.
