Overview
The Custr Companion App allows employees, administrators and Sixth Form students with access to use supported Custr features from their mobile device.
The features available in Companion depend on the type of user and the access provided to them.
The app is free to download and is available on both iOS and Android devices.
Before Downloading
For employees and administrators, ensure you have:
Been added as a user in Custr
Account Access enabled
The correct role and permissions assigned
For Sixth Form students, Companion access must first be enabled by the school.
Sixth Form students use Companion specifically for supported Sixth Form attendance functions and do not receive the same access as employees or administrators.
That keeps the existing employee guidance intact without incorrectly applying it to Sixth Formers.

Download on iOS (Apple Devices)
To download the Custr Companion App on an iPhone or iPad:
Open the App Store
Search for “Custr Companion”
Tap Get to download
Download for Android devices
To download the Custr Companion App on an Android device:
Open the Google Play Store
Search for “Custr Companion”
Tap Install to download
After Downloading
Once installed:
Open the app
Log in using your Custr account details
Ensure notifications are enabled on your device
Sixth Form Students
Once signed in, Sixth Form students can use the Companion App to support their check-in and check-out.
They can:
Scan a site QR Code through the Companion App
Tap or scan a Check-In Puck
Display their personal QR Code to a Reception Kiosk with QR scanning enabled
Sixth Form students cannot simply check in or out from anywhere within the app. A valid site check-in point must be used.
Important Notes
The Companion App is available on: Care Edition, Education Edition & Professional Edition
It is not available on Business Edition
Features available in the app depend on your role and permissions
Sixth Form Companion access is different from employee and administrator access.
Sixth Form students can only use the features made available to them.
Sixth Form check-in or check-out requires a valid site QR Code, Check-In Puck or personal QR Code presented to a Reception Kiosk.
