Overview
Email notifications in Custr can be customised in two ways:
Email content – what the email says
Recipients – who receives the email
These are configured in different areas of the system.
Two Ways to Configure Notifications
1. Customising Email Content
You can edit the wording and content of emails sent by Custr.
This allows you to:
Change messaging
Add instructions
Match your organisation’s tone
Email content is configured within each module.
To edit email content, go to:
Dashboard → Configuration → Settings → Emails
Example: Check-in Notifications
The employee will receive a notification when they are selected as the host during the check-in process.
2. Controlling Who Receives Emails
Who receives notifications is controlled by Roles & Permissions
This determines:
Which users are notified
What types of notifications they receive
What access they have within the system
For example:
A Reception role may receive visitor alerts
A Staff role may receive delivery notifications
An Admin role may receive all notifications
See: Roles & Permissions
How These Work Together
To ensure notifications are working correctly:
The email content must be configured
The correct users must be assigned roles
Employees must have:
A valid email address
Account access (if required)
If one of these is missing, notifications may not work as expected.
Common Issues
I changed the email, but the wrong person is still receiving it.
This is controlled by Roles & Permissions, not the email content.
No one is receiving notifications
Check:
Email content is configured correctly
Employees are assigned the correct role
Employees have valid email addresses
[email protected] is added to your safe sender list
User are not receiving certain notifications
Check:
Their assigned role
Their permissions
Module-specific settings
