Overview

This article explains Custom Questions on the Custr dashboard, covering how to add, edit, and assign questions to categories. It also includes how to apply rules to your questions and how each question type appears on the Custr iPad app.

Different types of custom questions

When creating a custom question, you can choose from several types:

Numerical

Allows visitors to answer on a scale of 1-10.

Text

Visitors can type a custom response.

Dropdown

Visitors select an answer from a list.

Multiple Choice

Visitors select multiple options from a list.


How to create custom questions

To create a custom question, follow the steps below:

  1. On your dashboard, navigate to Configuration > Questions

  2. Click the + icon

  3. Choose the question type

  4. Enter the title, question, and placeholder

  5. For dropdown and multiple-choice, enter each answer in the Choices box and click Add

  6. Click Save


How to edit questions

To edit a custom question, follow the steps below:

  1. On your dashboard, navigate to Configuration > Questions

  2. Select the question you wish to edit

  3. Click Edit in the top-right corner

  4. Make your changes and click Save


How to add custom questions to categories

To add a custom question to a category, follow the steps below:

  1. On your dashboard, navigate to Configuration > Categories

  2. Select the category to assign a question to

  3. Click the Questions tab

  4. Click the orange pencil icon

  5. Select the questions to assign

  6. Click Save

Please Note: To delete a question from a category, click the red bin icon next to the question name.


How to add rules to custom questions

Rules trigger actions based on specific conditions. To add a rule to a custom question, follow the steps below:

  1. On your dashboard, navigate to Configuration > Questions

  2. Select the question to add a rule to

  3. Click Edit in the top-right corner

  4. Click Add Rule

  5. Choose the rule (e.g., "if answer equals yes, notify staff")

  6. Select who should be notified

  7. Click Save

Please Note: Rules can only be added to Numerical, Multiple Choice, and Dropdown question types.


How to filter questions

To filter question types, follow the steps below:

  1. On your dashboard, navigate to Configuration > Questions

  2. Click the filter button next to the search bar

  3. Choose the question type to filter by
