Enabling Guided Access
Updated over a month ago

Guided Access is an iPad feature that limits your device to a single app and controls which features are available. To prevent visitors from exiting the e-Reception Book app, you can set up Guided Access, which means a passcode has to be entered to leave the app.

To enable Guided Access on the iPad, follow the steps below:

  1. On the iPad, navigate to Settings > Accessibility

  2. Scroll down to Guided Access and enable.

  3. Open the e-Reception Book Visitor App

  4. Triple Tap the Home Button (Older Devices) or Top Button (Newer Devices)

  5. Click Start.

Please note we recommend storing this code in a secure location as it will be required to disable the feature. Without the device may need to be factory reset.

Display Auto-Lock set as default:

โ€‹Enabled: Guided Access will mirror the Auto-Lock setting in Display & Brightness.
โ€‹Disabled: Guided Access will turn off the screen after 20 minutes of inactivity.
