Overview

The 'Evacuation' feature on Custr allows you to quickly and efficiently determine the safety and whereabouts of visitors, staff, Residents (care edition), and students (education edition) during a fire or emergency evacuation.

This feature provides a digital tool for marking individuals as safe and tracking their exit from the premises, ensuring everyone has evacuated the building safely and has been accounted for. It also allows you to generate reports from previous evacuations, display evacuation status, and enhance emergency response efforts, contributing to the overall safety and security of everyone in the building.

The Evacuation Feature allows designated personnel to view and manage the safe evacuation of:

  • Visitors

  • Staff

  • Residents (Care Edition)

  • Students (Education Edition)

You can access and use this feature in all three areas of the Custr system:

  • The Online Dashboard

  • The Custr Companion App

  • The Custr iPad App

Key Features

Evacuation View

This is your real-time list of everyone currently signed in on site. During an emergency or drill, it provides an up-to-date view of:

  • Who is on-site

  • Their type (visitor, staff, resident, student)

  • Where they checked in

  • Check In information

This view can be accessed from any of the three platforms and is constantly updated (if devices are connected), ensuring accuracy at all times.

Evacuation Mode

This is the action-focused part of the feature. When an evacuation is needed, you can activate Evacuation Mode in one of two ways:

  • Evacuation Drill – For training or compliance testing

  • Emergency Evacuation – For real-life incidents

Once activated, the system allows you to:

  • Mark individuals as safe as they reach safety

  • View notes for specific people (e.g., PEEPs, needs assistance)

  • Record the time taken and overall progress

Evacuation Reports

After any evacuation (drill or real), the system automatically generates a detailed evacuation report. This includes:

  • Timestamp of event

  • List of all individuals present

  • Check-in/check-out status

  • Who/When marked safe

  • Duration

This report is stored securely on the Online Dashboard for auditing, compliance, and safety reviews.
