In this article, we’re going to look at 'Photo Capture' on the e-Reception Book dashboard. This page shows you important information about how to set it up, how it works for visitors and staff, plus how it shows on the dashboard.
We’ll walk you through its different features and help you learn how to focus on the information that matters most to you.
What is photo capture?
Photo capture involves capturing and storing a photograph of each visitor and staff member upon checking in and checking out. This feature enhances security by creating a visual record of visitors and staff, which can be used for identification and tracking purposes throughout their visit. You can enable photo capture for check-in and check-out for both visitors and/or staff separately.

How photo capture works for visitor check-in and check-out
After you've entered your check-in and check-out details, the iPad will snap a photo of you for record-keeping. You'll then have the choice to either retake the photo if needed or keep the one that was taken.
This helps ensure that your information is accurately recorded along with a corresponding photo for identification and security purposes.
How visitor photos appear on the dashboard
When a visitor provides a photo during check-in, their image will populate alongside their details.
To view the photo and more information regarding their check-in, click on their record and their details will populate on the right-hand side of the e-Reception Book dashboard.
For an example of what this would look like, please see the image provided below.
